The NEW Labtech Mini COMBI line will seamlessly integrate a 16 mm Single-Screw extruder with both a blown film unit (LMF-200) and a cast film/sheet unit (LMCR-150). This modular design goes beyond the constraints of traditional setups by combining the features of two separate machines into one single system, offering production flexibility to meet diverse production needs and cost savings. Constructed on a sturdy steel frame with steel panels surrounding all internal component, this COMBI line ensures extremely high durability and stability.

The COMBI line is well-suited for running small sample size, making it an ideal choice for R&D, QC, and other similar applications. Despite its compact size, this mini COMBI line typically have similar capabilities to larger counterparts but only lower throughput capacity, meaning that it is possible to cover almost all conventional polymers (e.g. PET, PE, Nylon), biodegradable polymers (e.g. PLA, TPS), and recycle materials.

  • Modular design
  • Space savings
  • Cost savings
  • Ease of installation
  • Production versatility
  • Rapid and easy conversion between blown film and cast film production
  • Low power consumption and small footprint
  • Minimal material consumption

An optional water tempering unit, capable of reaching a maximum temperature of 140 °C, is available as an option for cast roller.

Blown Film Process

The mandrel die is mounted on the frame of blown film tower utilizing a swing arm, which allows for easy positioning and connection to the extruder unit.

When blown film production is required, the die attachment is readily connected to the mini single-screw extruder 16 mm by swinging the die attachment from its resting position at the side and using a C-clamp mechanism to secure it.

Cast Film/Sheet Process

Conversely, when the demand switches to cast film or sheet extrusion, the blown film die attachment is first disconnected from the single-screw extruder by swinging the die assembly aside.

The cast film/sheet process is then achieved by sliding forward the single-screw extruder on the linear slide carriage and connecting to the flat die using same C-clamp mechanism.

The positioning of flat die is highly adjustable by using the Linear Slider, a capable of adjusting to a various position in relation to the cast roller. Additionally, the cast roller itself possesses the capability of fine vertical adjustments to control the gap distance with the flat die. This feature allows the potential for operators to handle polymers of diverse viscosities and applications.
